What is it like to live in Goodfield, Congerville, and Secor, IL?

These are quiet, close-knit bedroom villages, and that is their whole personality: Goodfield, with about 940 residents, straddles the Woodford-Tazewell county line where IL-117 meets I-74; Congerville, with around 750, is a tidy village of mostly owner-occupied homes; Secor, with about 340 residents, sits off US-24 between El Paso and Eureka. Inventory is thin and the stock is honest: modest frame homes, ranch houses on country lots, and farmhouses with acreage when they come up. New construction is rare, so buyers should be ready to move when the right property surfaces.

Few sales mean wide ballparks. Recent estimates put Congerville's median home value around $200,000 to $250,000, while Goodfield and Secor see too few sales for reliable medians; across the three villages, most sales land in the $150,000 to $250,000 range, with acreage and larger farms running higher.

This is the corner of the metro where an affordable price still buys you ground, a garage, and neighbors who wave. If you can be patient and decisive at the same time, the value is real.

Everyday life here is the draw: church and school events, volunteer fire department fundraisers, and the quiet of farm country at dusk. Eureka, about 10 to 15 minutes away, handles the errands and the nights out, with restaurants like Cornerstone Family Restaurant and the Reagan Museum on campus.

Peoria's riverfront and entertainment district is 25 to 35 minutes west, and the farmland roads between the three villages are a favorite for bikes and Sunday drives. If you are after nightlife, this is not the place; if you are after peace, it is hard to beat.
